Meltdown Line Up

The Roots, Moby, Yoko Ono...

The full line-up for this year's Meltdown Festival has been revealed, with Moby, Yoko Ono, Patti Smith and many more set to play in London throughout June.

The event, annually held in the South Bank Centre, sees a celebrated musical figure curate their own programme of live acts, with trip hop giants Massive Attack last year selecting their favourite acts.

2009 will see pioneering jazz player Ornette Coleman curate the event, which has shaped up to be a highly eclectic bill, with instrumental hip hop collective The Roots and vegan dance pioneer Moby also chosen by Coleman to play.

Moby is set to return in June with new album 'Wait For Me'. Recent lead-single 'Shot In The Back Of The Head' recently came accompanied by a new video, directed by legendary surrealist filmmaker David Lynch.

Now well into his 70s, Coleman is an influential figure in modern music, having pioneered free jazz in the late 50s and beyond. Coleman will play two shows at the event, both of which sold out immediately.
