McCartney On The X-Factor

Former Beatle is no fan of show

Sir Paul McCartney has given a new press conference in which he admits to watching The X-Factor, although he insisted that the show is “just a phase we're going through”.

Currently promoting his new Fireman album, 'Electric Arguments' (released on Monday November 24th), the former Beatle told reporters "I think there is too much of it, really."

"You can't turn on the telly without somebody being judged by four people, whether they are on ice or on the stage or in the jungle.

"I just think it's a bit weird myself. So I'm not very keen on it. But I watch it like everybody."

The singer did admit that the shows are far from a diverse representation of musical talent. "I don't think you are going to get a Bob Dylan emerging from one of those shows, but then not everyone goes on those shows.”

ClashMusic.com was at the conference and will be running highlight questions and answers from it online later today.
