McCartney On Ringo Starr
Pair may team up, he claims
Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney has revealed in a new interview on American TV that he would love to perform with former bandmate Ringo Starr, it has been reported.
The pair are the only surviving members of the Fab Four. McCartney and Starr have remained close since The Beatles split in 1970, both enjoying lengthy solo careers.
In an interview on US television McCartney revealed that only his extensive commitments had prevented a collaboration. Asked if they could reunite, McCartney said “Yeah I would love to. We do things from time to time together – it doesn't always come up."
“Sometimes he'll be on tour when I'm not. But we don't rule it out, it'd be great. He's a great drummer and we're used to each other. Lets hear it for Ringo,” he said.
The pair last worked together alongside George Harrison on expanding demos left behind by John Lennon. The resulting recordings included a number one single in 'Free As A Bird' and were released on the 'Anthology' series.
