Beatles Star Discusses Downloads

Former Beatle star Sir Paul McCartney has revealed that he downloaded Radiohead's much heralded 'In Rainbows' - an was tempted to pay just 1p for it!

The songwriter, reportedly worth in excess of £600 million, has revealed that he was tempted to pay just 1p for Radiohead's new album. The band released 'In Rainbows' on a downloadable basis, where fans could pay what they felt appropriate.

“I was thinking of downloading it and giving them my 1p and telling all my friends I paid ten quid for it – I think a lot of people did that too,” the former Beatle said.

Discussing downloads at a new press conference, Sir Paul McCartney said "we’ve gone through vinyl, tape cassettes, CDs and downloads, and to me it’s sort of all the same, except now it’s this weird thing where people don’t pay for it,” he said.

“It is a bit of a surprise but I don’t mind actually, it’s interesting."
