McCartney On Depression

Musician describes 'dark place'

Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney has opened his heart in a recent interview describing his depression in the aftermath of his divorce from the model Heather Mills.

McCartney's divorce from Heather Mills was one of the showbiz stories of last year. Resulting in a £25 million settlement and no amount of mud slinging reaching the tabloids, it gripped the public as one of our best loved musical figures was left searching for love.

Despite massive press interest Sir Paul McCartney is yet to give a full interview on the subject, maintaining a dignified silence throughout the court case.

McCartney was giving an interview on US radio to support his new project The Fireman when the subject was broached. Responding to questions the former Beatle said “love and light is mentioned a lot on the album. Parts of it are dark and edgy."

The conversation, reported in British tabloid The Sun, continued with McCartney claiming "it could be because I’ve been through a dark place. I am a man who needs love. Every man needs love, guys like romance. I do anyway.”

Amen, Macca!
