McCartney For American Idol?

In a new interview the Prince Of Darkness himself Simon Cowell has revealed that he has approached former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney to appear as a special guest on American Idol.

The record breaking pop talent show has uncovered some massive talents, as Cowell oils the wheels of the pop machine with the tears of the broken hearted. In a new interview Cowell revealed he had approached McCartney to appear as a special guest judge, but the former Beatle has repeatedly turned down the offer.

However Cowell also revealed that Britney Spears could be making an appearance on the program. "She would, literally, be first on the list as far as I'm concerned in any capacity," Cowell said.

"I would love to see her mentor the contestants, but if she doesn't want to do that, and she wants to come on the show and perform, I would welcome her anytime."

Spears recently appeared on The X Factor, with some fans calling on her to quit after a poorly received mimed performance.
