Martin Scorsese To Direct Ramones Film

Exciting times...

With the death of drummer Tommy Ramone last month, each original members of The Ramones has passed away.

Yet the band's legacy continues to inspire. During an interview with Billboard, Jeff Jampol – who co-manages the band’s estate – revealed a number of potentially thrilling tit-bits.

Martin Scorsese is in line to direct a film about the punk four piece. It's an intriguing choice, with the director yet again returning to folk heroes spawned by his native New York.

Elsewhere, a new documentary is planned which is said to contain never-seen-before footage. Alongside this, Jambol hints at a forthcoming book, re-mastered music and other treats to celebrate the upcoming 40th anniversary of the group's debut album.
