Martin Carr For London Show
Rare solo slot from Boo Radley
Lost Britpop icon Martin Carr has confirmed details of a new London show in which he will unveil solo material.
The Boo Radleys are one of the most misunderstood British bands of the 90s. Tagged as 'one hit wonders' thanks to the success of their single 'Wake Up Boo!' the group were actually challenging songwriters.
Early shoegazing classic 'Lazarus' was followed by a series of critically acclaimed albums. Despite writing the lyrics Martin Carr rarely sang on Boo Radleys material, choosing instead to remain a Brian Wilson style songwriting figure.
Dissolving after the death of Creation Records, Martin Carr re-emerged as bravecaptain releasing a few critically acclaimed solo collections.
However the singer fell out of favour, retreating to his home studio to work on new material. Attempting to fund his new album via the website Bandstocks, Martin Carr instead chose to start his own label State 51.
The album 'Ye Gods (and little fishes)' was released this summer, and demonstrated that Martin Carr has lost none of his celestial pop talent.
Now the famed singer is set to play a special one off London show. Martin Carr is due to perform at the Sonic Cathedral night at The Legion venue on November 19th, with support from Hush Arbors.
A renowned club night, Sonic Cathedral have previously played host to showgazing veterans such as Swervedriver and one time Ride singer Mark Gardner.
Martin Carr has confirmed the following date:
