Mars Volta For ATP

Anniversary event expands

Out there afro-clad proggers The Mars Volta have been added to the bill for the forthcoming festival Ten Years Of ATP.

All Tomorrow's Parties are ten years old - boy, do we feel old! Continuing the stunning success of the epochal Bowlie Weekender the event has grown to become one of the most talked about festivals in Britain.

In the intervening decade a host of stunning acts have played the event, with curators including the likes of Mogwai, Shellac, The Breeders, British art duo The Chapman Brothers and many more.

This December organisers have organised a new event which will cap a remarkable decade in the life of the event. Ten Years Of ATP is set to take place in Butlins' Minehead, with a number of stellar headliners.

Organisers have already unveiled appearances from Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Modest Mouse, The Breeders and many more. In addition to this, prog outlaws The Mars Volta are set to drop by for a blistering (if no doubt lengthy) set.

The band recently denied rumours they were set to split in favour of an At The Drive In re-union, instead releasing their new album 'Octahedron'. The Mars Volta's appearance at ATP is a major coup for the event, with the group set to be joined by a very special guest star.

Geoff Barrow is better known as a pivotal member of Portishead, with the Bristol musician set to launch his new group BEAK at the December event. Barrow is due to be joined by an all star cast containing some ATP favourites and newcomers.

Ten Years Of ATP takes place between December 11th - 13th. Full line up is as follows:

WHAT? No one ever said they

WHAT? No one ever said they were going to split up... in fact if you read recent articles they're probably on their best moment as a band. Omar won't make an ATDI reunion anything soon, he'll probably NEVER reform it... why would they play something they wrote more than 10 years ago? Specially when Omar has creative freedom now. People move forward, he has grown up and he's not 20 anymore. People need to understand that.
