Manic Street Preachers

Welsh wizards Manic Street Preachers are set to play a warm up show for the Reading and Leeds festivals in Newport, it has been announced.

The legendary rock group are set to perform at the Newport Centre on August 21st - their only Welsh gig of the year. Manic Street Preachers are set to play the Reading and Leeds festivals on August 23rd and 24th.

The group have always been proud of their Welsh roots, frequently draping their nation's flags on amplifiers. Manic Street Preachers originally hail from nearby Blackwood, a small mining village in South Wales. After years of appearing to be on autopilot the group suddenly seem re-energized after the success of late year's revitalized album "Send Away The Tigers". With an acclaimed back catalogue to draw on, Manic Street Preachers are one of Britain's most popular live acts.

Manic Street Preachers will play the following shows:

August 21st - Newport, Newport Centre
August 23rd - Reading Festival
August 24th - Leeds Festival
