Manic Street Preachers To Play ‘The Holy Bible’ In Its Entirety

As part of the album's 20th anniversary celebration...

An explosion of glam make up, Sunset Strip riffs and left wing polemic, Manic Street Preachers were a vivid, chaotic presence in British music as baggy finally died a sad, ignoble death.

By 1994, though, the Welsh group were in a bad way. Lyricist and co-founder Richey Edwards' mental health issues began to worsen, while the simple strain of being in the band seemed to take its toll on each member.

Remarkably, Manic Street Preachers poured these feelings into a truly incredible album. Packed with abrasive post-punk influences, corrosive industrial tones and the odd moment of sheer rock bedlam, it's an album which is almost entirely unique.

Turning 20 years old this year, the band plan to perform 'The Holy Bible' in its entirety at a series of special shows this December.

The trio will play Glasgow's Barrowland on December 8th, before hitting Manchester's Albert Hall for a two night stand.

Manic Street Preachers will then play a one off show in Dublin, with the tour set to end with three nights in London's historic Roundhouse venue.

Tickets are onsale from Friday 25th September at 9.00am, with a full 'The Holy Bible' re-issue package set to follow.

10 Manchester Albert Hall
