Magic Loungeabout Returns

Yorkshire festival The Magic Loungeabout is set to return in 2010, with early bird tickets on sale now.

A British institution, the humble music festival has had a difficult time of late. Over saturation of the festival season coupled with the most serious economic contraction in living memory have left many events struggling to cope.

Rather sensibly taking time off this summer, The Magic Lougeabout's very special charms are set to re-appear on the festival calendar in 2010.

Taking place on the last weekend of July, The Magic Loungeabout is nestled deep within the rolling Yorkshire Dales amid luscious greenery and parkland forests. Set at the stunning Broughton Hall, the event is due to expand including many more features.

With capacity increased to 3000 revellers, musical entertainment will line up alongside a brand new speaker’s tent featuring literary rogues, well-travelled adventurers and seasoned foodies, along with a cinema, restaurant, old school games room and loads more for the kids.

The Magic Loungeabout appears to be refreshed by taking a year off. “We took 2009 as a sabbatical, to distil everything we gleaned from last year’s festival. For us the key element is listening to the people who attended in 2008 and we had plenty of great feedback."

"There are going to be lots of exciting developments announced in the coming weeks, but already we have added a speaker’s tent, a cosy cinema, a restaurant, a tea shop and an old school games room. We’re paying even more attention to the tone of the festival, to the production, and believe we have got something really special. It will really feel like you’re going to a different place altogether.”

With a host of special performances due to be unveiled next year, The Magic Loungeabout has confirmed details of a new early bird tickets scheme. Set at the a reduced price for a limited time of £76.80, tickets can be bought online at the less expensive rate until November 30th.

The Magic Loungeabout is due to take place between July 31st - August 1st.
