New single coming soon

Liverpool's whimsical indie merchants The Maccabees have revealed the video to their new track 'No Kind Words'.

Hailing from beside the Mersey, The Maccabees don't fit in to the previous mould of Liverpool bands. Gone are the sea shanties and dub reggae work outs, and in comes charming songwriting and close knit harmonies.

Debut album 'Colour It In' was a massive critical success, containing some beautiful melodies blended with vicious lyrics. Lead single 'Toothpaste Kisses' was a minor chart success, with fans swooning over its soaring harmonies.

New single 'No Kind Words' is the band's first new material in two years and is eagerly anticipated by fans. The accompanying video was directed by Ruth Render and the Maccabees’ Orlando Weeks, and stars Mat Horne.

Maccabees guitarist Felix White told BBC Newsbeat: "Mat is a good friend and we have wanted to work together for a while now, we were keen to continue our DIY approach to video making. This one was inspired by the Alas Smith and Jones sketch show. Its darker mood fits the song we feel."

The Maccabees have made new track 'No Kind Words' available as a free download from their official website.
