Macca Pokes Fun At Dalai Lama
Singer talks vegetarianism
Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney might be destined to be reincarnated as a lettuce after poking fun at the Dalai Lama.
The musician has been on the promotional trail with his project The Fireman releasing their new album 'Electric Arguments'. For the album McCartney teamed up with producer Youth, and the result is one of his best albums in years.
McCartney was a guest on satirical TV show 'The Colbert Report' and was asked about his vegetarianism by host Stephen Colbert. The former Beatle replied "I've got this thing that animals have a right to live on this earth and we shouldn't kill them and eat them, and the Dalai Lama is with me on this."
The presenter then joked that animals could eat humans in an emergency, to which McCartney replied "in an emergency perhaps the Dalai Lama would eat me?"
However McCartney didn't appear to enjoy being teased about his role in the Beatles. The presenter listed his favourite members of the group, saying "for me it went Ringo, George, John, Ringo again, then George Martin, then you."
The former Wings mainman retorted "hey are you taking the mickey? George Martin wasn't even in the group. He wasn't a Beatle."
The Fireman's album is available now.
