Lynyrd Skynyrd 2010 UK Tour Dates

Southern rockers return

Legendary Southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd have confirmed a series of British tour dates next year.

Formed in the late 60s, Lynyrd Skynyrd came to define Southern rock music. With their virtuoso musicianship and tough songcraft the band evolved into a stunning live act, capable of drawing thousands of fans.

Writing anthems such as 'Freebird' and 'Sweet Home Alabama' the group became one of the most popular on the planet. However in 1977 tragedy struck with a horrific air crash destroying Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Three band members were killed outright, including lead singer and main songwriter Ronnie Van Zant. Several more band members were severely injured, with Lynyrd Skynyrd's career considered to be over.

However in one of the most astonishing displays of bravery in rock music the band was resurrected by the surviving members. Lynyrd Skynyrd re-united in 1987 for a full scale American tour with Ronnie Van Zant's younger brother Johnny filling in for the iconic singer.

Since then, Lynyrd Skynyrd have toured the world paying tribute to their fallen comrades and producing their infectious brand of Southern rock.

Recently signing with Roadrunner Records, the resurgent seven piece released their latest album 'God And Family' last year.

Lynyrd Skynyrd have confirmed the following UK tour dates:

March
4 Birmingham LG Arena
5 Cardiff International
6 London HMV Hammersmith Apollo
8 Manchester Apollo
9 Glasgow Clyde Auditorium
