London Freeze Line Up
Orbital, Friendly Fires confirmed
This year's London Freeze has confirmed the first names on its line up with Orbital set to perform a rare set.
The growth in festivals means that you can now enjoy a musical weekender all year round. Becoming a global phenomenon, fans can conceivably travel the world taking in the North Hemisphere then travelling further South.
Here in Britain winter events are becoming more and more popular. Where once festivals were restricted to the few moments of sunshine the nation enjoys now it seems that music fans can enjoy events all year round.
Held in Battersea Power Station London Freeze is part of the new breed of winter events. Mixing live music with winter sports the three day event was a massive success last year and is due to return for another instalment.
Opening with Orbital on the first night, London Freeze have bagged one of the most iconic names in British dance music. Inspired by Acid House the Hartnoll brothers began making music in their father's garage.
Twenty years on and the duo have reformed, to again raise the bar on what it is possible for an electronic act to achieve. With a series of Top 40 hits behind them, Orbital are set to lay waste to London Freeze after stunning performances at RockNess and Get Loaded In The Park.
Spread over three days, London Freeze has yet to confirm the bulk of its bill. However organisers have confirmed that Friendly Fires are due to close the event on November 1st. The shoegaze trio were recently nominated for the Mercury Music Prize, and played a homecoming show last night (September 3rd).
London Freeze takes place between October 30th - November 1st.
