Site shut down for several hours

Lollapalooza was hit by storms over the weekend, forcing a temporary shut down on Saturday (August 4th).
Lollapalooza remains one of the biggest music festivals in the United States. No longer a travelling show, the event is situated in Chicago's Grant Park.
With storms moving across the state, organisers decided to take emergency measures. Lollapalooza was evacuated on Saturday, with the site being closed down for several hours due to safety fears.
The massive operation saw 60,000 fans and 3000 members of staff being re-located in just 38 minutes. “We want to thank the tens of thousands of festival goers, staff, and artists who calmly and safely exited from Grant Park today,” said Charlie Jones, partner of C3 Presents, the promoter for Lollapalooza.
“We applaud and thank the City of Chicago for their cooperation and commitment to making Lolla a safe and enjoyable experience for all. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow for one more day of rock.”
The schedule was immediately re-arranged, although some bands lost their place on the bill. Alabama Shakes were unable to perform, and Tweeted an apology to fans: "Sorry Chicago, we were really pumped to play for you all but the storm had other plans. We will be back to make it up for you!"
Lollapalooza re-opened on Saturday and continued without incident.
