Strokes drummer Fab Moretti is set to work on Little Joy's new album, close friend Devendra Banhart has revealed.

Without doubt one of the most influential acts of the noughties, The Strokes have seen their career stall through lack of momentum. Taking a break in 2006 the band have found that starting up again is a lot more difficult than first thought.

Embarking on a series of side projects, the various members began making music under different guises. Fab Moretti launched the band Little Joy who released their acclaimed debut album last year.

Scratchy indie-punk, the trio claimed to be much more than a side project. With The Strokes now working on new material it had been thought that Little Joy would cease to exist - however it seems that the band are set to continue.

In a new interview close friend Devendra Banhart has revealed that Little Joy are working on their second album. Speaking to the NME the singer told fans: "Little Joy's new record is going to come out on Rough Trade."

Banhart then claimed to love "everything Rough Trade puts out". Acclaimed New Yorker Adam Green is also signed to Rough Trade, with Devendra Banhart revealing that the singer's new album "is his best record – it's so, so good."

Elsewhere, Devendra Banhart also revealed bizarre plans to launch a cologne with The Strokes star. "I have an extreme cologne coming out with Fab Moretti," he said before revealing it will be called 'Ninja Smell'.

"We have a band called Permanent Adventure and we wear helmets, and we have contact mics on the helmets. And we run at each other, and that's the percussive element," he stated.

"And then I say 'What are you on?' and he says 'I'm on a permanent adventure.' And that's the scope of the ad campaign where we're selling our product, which is extreme cologne."
