Little Boots Tops Poll

BBC tips revealed

The influential 'Sound Of 2009' poll compiled by the BBC has been revealed and electro-singer Little Boots has come out on top, it has been announced.

The poll asks more than 130 music critics and industry insiders who their tip for the coming year will be. Last year's Top 10 was topped by Grammy-nominee Adele, while Duffy, The Ting Tings and MGMT also featured high up in the poll.

This year's 'Sound Of 2009' has been topped by Little Boots. The diminutive electro-singer combines a dancefloor edge with a chart-friendly sound, and has been widely tipped for success in the following year.

"It is amazing that so many people want to write about me and give me opportunities, and I'm so grateful for that," Little Boots told the BBC.

Indie group White Lies came second, while eccentric Londoners Florence And The Machine took third place. The rest of the top five was made up of Empire Of The Sun and Lady Gaga.
