Classic live album 'Wings Over America' is set to be re-issued later this summer - listen to an exclusive preview on ClashMusic now.
Formed by Paul and Linda McCartney, Wings swiftly became one of the biggest rock bands of the 70s. Yet live performances were few and far between, with the ensemble preferring instead to remain a - highly successful - studio entity.
Breaking cover in some style, the band's epochal 1976 tour has gone down in history. A lavish, epic undertaking, it saw Wings traverse North America playing in front of thousands upon thousands of fans.
Captured for posterity on the 'Wings Over America' live album, the expansive LP remains one of the band's best loved relics. Set to be re-issued on May 27th, a spruced up 'Wings Over America' will be packaged with a hefty quantity of rare and unreleased live recordings and other titbits of memorabilia.
Alongside this, the long since deleted documentary 'Rockshow' is set to be unearthed. Originally issued on Betamax back in 1980, the live film captures Wings in their prime and will be digitally enhanced for its re-issue on June 10th.
Ahead of this, ClashMusic are able to present something extremely special. 'Rockshow' features on both the 'Wings Over America' re-issue and the concert film of the same name, and it's a striking example of the live muscle the band enjoyed during their cross-continent jaunt.
Listen to it first on ClashMusic.
...and finally: here's the trailer for 'Rockshow'.
