Psych-pop odyssey...

White Denim have released a free mixtape outlining some of the influences on their new album.
Hailing from Texas, White Denim are fuelled by the great lineage of psychedelia. The band's frenetic psych-punk jams reached their full flower on 2009's 'Fits' a stunning mixture of poise and power.
Released to widespread acclaim, the album defined a group who were not content on walking in others' footsteps. White Denim have their own sound, which owes as much to itchy post-punk rhythms as it does to Grateful Dead jams.
A series of tracks emerged online last year, before work began in earnest on a potential follow up. Due for release later this year, 'D' looks set to be more psych-inspired freakout jams from White Denim.
A few tracks have already been released, including the self-explanatory 'Acid'. White Denim have now compiled a mixtape, which outlines a few of their influences.
Opening with 'Cop Out' from Jeff Simmons the mixtape has a few oddball cuts and rarities. Hank Williams Jr appears, emphasising White Denim's love of vintage Americana alongside cuts from Little Feat and more.
Krautrock groups such as Amon Duul II get a shout out, while cult French prog merchants Triangle also appear. A great listen, you can stream / download the mix courtesy of SoundCloud (via GorillaVsBear) below...
