Taken from new album 'Caves'...

Tristen is gearing up to release new album 'Caves' - listen to preview cut 'Gold Star' on Clash.

Tristen is deeply independent. Writing and recording her material on her own, the American artist's take on the synth-pop template strays into personal territory.

Debut album 'Charlatans At The Garden Gate' received warm critical acclaim, with a follow up now in the pipeline. New LP 'Caves' was recorded with the aid of Bright Eyes producer Mike Mogis at his ARC Recording Studios in Omaha.

Going further, Tristen enlisted Stephen Hague for the final mix-down. Hague's credits include Pet Shop Boys and New Order, and he is widely cited as a pioneer in digital recording.

Out later this month, Clash is able to bring you a quick preview of 'Caves' before anyone else. Stripped from the album, 'Gold Star' is all sighing vocals and exquisite programming - the humane and the digital married in one blast of pop perfection.

Listen to it below.

'Caves' is set to be released on October 14th.
