TNGHT have surprised fans with brand new single ‘Acrylics’ ahead of their headline US tour and Friday night appearances at Coachella.
The minimalist hip-hop musical duo consists of 26 year-old Glaswegian, Hudson Mohawke (Ross Birchard) and 23 year-old Montreal-native, Lunice (Lunice Fermin Pierre II) who bring a whole new meaning to horror movie music with a twinkling music box melody introducing the calm before the storm on ‘Acrylics’.
The track ascends through a Trap-style foot stamp before blasting into a laser beaming synth melody. For if there ever were a Godzilla meets Inspector Gadget fight scene, this would be a pretty good contender to soundtrack over.
The intercontinental duo has recently gained a fan in Kanye West along with other rappers’ ears perking up as they find themselves dipping in the American pond later this year. With an all out assault on the world of US Hip Hop in the works, Lil Wayne and Kendrick Lamar are also in line to work with TNGHT.
The official video of ‘Acrylics’ shows live scenes of TNGHT on tour along with a selection of clips from their stay in Japan and an animated game, all flickering in precise time to stamping beats and quivering synths.
TNGHT will also perform at selected festival dates throughout this summer in the US, UK and Europe. The following dates are listed.
