Tim Burgess has posted new track ‘White’ online – the first sign of his upcoming solo album.
Set to be released next month, Tim Burgess’ new solo album ‘Oh No I Love You’ seems to be an intriguing proposition. Lambchop lunchpin Kurt Wagner was on hand during the writing process, and his name appears on the album in the form of several co-credits.
Seemingly, the relationship stretches back almost a decade. “The root of this album goes right back to a Kurt Wagner show in Manchester” Burgess explained recently. “It was the quietest yet the most powerful live performance I had ever seen and afterwards I carried Kurt’s guitar to the car for him. I took the chance to ask him if he would ever consider writing a song with me. “Sure Tim, you write the music and I’ll write the words”. That one song turned into an album…”
Last night, Tim Burgess posted a new track from ‘Oh No I Love You’. Available to stream now, ‘White’ opens with jaunty keyboards and a blast of saxophone before giving way to a country inflected strum.
