Listen: Thurston Moore – ‘Cease Fire’

"Melt down your guns and kiss your neighbor..."

Thurston Moore has shared new track 'Cease Fire', a protest against the climate of violence.

The ever-productive guitarist went back into the studio recently, focussing on fresh ideas alongside bassist Deb Googe, guitarist James Sedwards and guest drummer Jem Doulton.

New cut 'Cease Fire' is the result. It's immediately recognisable as Thurston Moore – he's a distinctive guitarist, after all – but musically it continues to explore fresh ground.

He comments: “Guns are designed to kill and we, as non-violent human beings, are against the killing of any person or animal. The song is also about the power of love, in all its freedom of choice. A power that no gun can extinguish as love will rule always. Melt down your guns and kiss your neighbor.”
