Their influences explored...

Rising newcomers Society have crafted a new mixtape - check it out on Clash.

If Society have arrived almost fully formed, then that’s a testament to the sheer hard graft which has gone into their songwriting.

The band’s debut single ‘All That We’ve Become’ sold out almost instantly, becoming a collector’s item in the process.

New single ’14 Hours’ is set to raise expectations still further – but Society are far from an overnight success. "This project has been a total labour of love for almost two years now," says the frontman. "After countless painstaking candle-burning studio experiments, I'm very excited to letting this project step out from the shadows."

Out now, following the release of ’14 Hours’ the band have pieced together a new mixtape outlining their influences. Starting with a spoken word piece from William Burroughs, the selection is heavy on dub and psychedelia.

Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry makes an appearance, while Bo Ningen and the Brian Jonestown Massacre also take part.

Listen below.

Society will play their first ever live show on October 1st at the Sebright Arms, London.
