Are the LuckyMe crew set to go pop? In a recent interview with Clash, TNGHT producer Hudson Mohawke argued that the lines between the mainstream world and the underground have become blurred.
“Everything’s so intertwined together” he argued, “there’s no division between major and underground stuff. Even from like Diplo doing Usher, or how I got involved in the Kanye stuff...”
Glasgow compatriot Rustie seemingly agrees. Earlier this year the producer re-worked 'Glass Swords' cut 'Surph' with vocalist Nightwave, creating a track which bristled with a Maximal pop energy.
Now Rustie has hooked up with Aluna Francis. 50% of AlunaGeorge, the singer is definitely hot property in the pop world right now but contains enough savvy to know a groundbreaking producer when she sees one.
