Listen: Roy Harper – Time Is Temporary

Stripped from 'Man And Myth'

Roy Harper has posted new track 'Time Is Temporary' online – check it out below.

With the voices of the folk revival now passing into silence, it's heartening to see some still raging against the dying of the light. An ever-unpredictable talent, Roy Harper's resurgence has been both unexpected and joyous, with the songwriter now preparing his first new album in over a decade.

'Man And Myth' is due to be released later this year, and is seemingly marked by the influence of modern West Coast songwriters. Jonathan Wilson assists on production, with numerous guest musicians sitting in on the sessions.

New track 'Time Is Temporary' has emerged online, and it's quite impressive. Perhaps showing traits from his recent spell as a poet and essayist, the lyrics are wonderfully rich – Roy Harper gets only a few words before referencing the pre-Raphaelite movement.

Delicately arranged, 'Time Is Temporary' has a cheeky nod and wink to remind us that no matter how serious the subject matter, this is still Roy Harper.

Listen to it now.

'Man And Myth' is set to be released on September 23rd.
