'Voices' appears on new compilation

A rare Nick Drake track is set to appear on upcoming compilation 'Electric Eden' - listen to it below.
The past decade has seen a resurgence of interest in what can be loosely labelled Wyrd, Acid or Psychedelic Folk. The States have arguably led the way, but the phenomenon should really be understood as British in origin.
Which is where 'Electric Eden' comes in. A fantastic tome, Rob Young's book traced the sound's origins through to the boiling pot of the 60s, where the traditional folk scene collided with the counter culture.
Twisting and evolving into new sounds, what emerged would influence songwriters for generations. Now a soundtrack album has been pieced together, focussing on some of the most vital intersections in the book.
Out next week, 'Electric Eden' will be preceded by a handy widget. Amongst the treats on show are tracks from Traffic, Fairport Convention and a rare cut from Nick Drake.

Here's a quote from Rob Young:
"This compilation is designed to follow the flow from acoustic to electric folk in the late 60s and early 70s, a magical time in British music. I've tried to include a mixture of rarities, unheard versions, familiar names and unjustly neglected heroes and heroines. I'm particularly proud of including a rare original version of 'A Sailor's Life' by Fairport Convention, literally the first time a rock drum kit was ever used on a traditional folk song. History in the making!"
