New York punks preview debut album
Parquet Courts

New York punks Parquet Courts are streaming new track 'Smart Aleck Kid' online.

New York has an incredible hardcore lineage. Sure, HXC might owe its origins to California and Washington DC, but when Bad Brains hitched up their van and headed towards the Big Apple they managed to energise an entire city.

Austin Brown and Andrew Savage are veterans of the punk, forming Parquet Courts last year. Feral garage punk with a cheeky smirk on its face, the pair released debut album 'Light Up Gold' through their own label Dull Tools last summer.

Gaining a cult following, the record is set to gain an official release in the UK on April 15th. Ahead of this, Parquet Courts have placed album track 'Smart Aleck Kid' online - all jagged riffs and wordscrammedtogethervocals there's a fist pumping, anthemic quality to the track.

Listen to it now.
