Ghostly, fragmented Americana...
Jon Jackson

Rising London songwriter Jon Jackson has posted new track 'Dehost' online - listen to it below.

Jon Jackson seems to have stepped from the shadows. Clash admit that we don't know much about the songwriter, other than he is based in London and has played a handful of shows to date.

Posting a few ghostly, sparse clips to SoundCloud, though, it's clear that Jon Jackson is able to let his much stand on its own. New track 'Dehost' is black as Midnight, imbued with the same unearthly blues howl which fuelled Robert Johnson.

It's uniquely cinematic: you can imagine a velvet dusk settling upon a Southern gothic landscape, a faint trail of stars lining up in the heavens.

Using little more than sparse guitar chords, slashing slide guitar and soft, reverb-emboldened vocals, Jon Jackson is able to make powerful, definitive statements whilst retaining an allusive air of mystery.

Listen to 'Dehost' below.

Jon Jackson is set to play a headline slot at the Lock Tavern in London on December 11th.
