Listen: James Vincent McMorrow - Red Dust

James Vincent McMorrow has shared new track 'Red Dust' - listen to it now.

James Vincent McMorrow never set out to be a success, not really. Debut album 'Early In the Morning' went platinum, buoyed by the unexpected, soaraway success of his 'Higher Love' cover.

Financially secure, the songwriter began taking more and more risks. Secluding himself away near the Mexican border, McMorrow began building up vastly experimental new material which retains his pop touch.

New album 'Post Tropical' is set to be released on January 13th, with teaser cut 'Red Dust' online now. Singing in the upper register, there is a touch of Robert Wyatt here in the way McMorrow layers his own vocal parts.

When skittering electronics disrupt the track mid-way through, it's a sign that the London based artist is done with playing it say.

Check it out below.
