Daphi's take on James Holden's upcoming release 'Renata' has emerged online - listen to it below.
James Holden occupies a rare position in electronic music. Not only is the Border Community lynchpin adored by dance fans, but fellow producers speak openly of their admiration.
Returning with a new album, lead cut 'Renata' is a sizzling, expansive piece of avant techno. Set to be given a full 12 inch release, James Holden commissioned remixes from a few like minded individuals.
Using his Daphni moniker, Dan Snaith is amongst them. Handed the stems for 'Renato' the results are quite special - adding hints of UK Garage to the rhythms, those bubbling synths are more '67 psychedelia than '87 Acid House.
Warm, rich and utterly contagious you can listen to Daphni's 'Renata' re-work below.
