James Blake's new single 'Retrograde' has emerged online following its Radio 1 premiere last night.
James Blake may be quiet, but he's never silent. Since releasing his eponymous debut album the producer has crafted a number of one off cuts, alongside a full EP which contained a collaboration with Bon Iver.
Now a second album is in sight. New LP 'Overgrown' is set to be released later this year, with lead single 'Retrograde' due to be available from February 11th.
The track was given its first play on Radio 1 last night. Introduced by Zane Lowe, it appeared online shortly afterwards.
What does it sound like? Well, it sounds like James Blake. A mature step forward from the songwriter, you can listen to a rip below.
The songwriter also joined the New Zealand host for a chat. "A lot has happened since I made my first record. I went on tour and played to a lot of people... which could be something I'm talking about in some of these songs," Blake said. "I feel like I've lyrically and musically found some way of better expressing myself."
"I did completely re-imagine on this album. People who have followed me from the start will probably be used to the change-arounds that happen" he continued. "Hopefully they'll just go with me again as they've been so amazing to me so far."
'Overgrown' is set to be released on April 8th.
