Error Operator is streaming new single 'Never I Us' exclusively through ClashMusic.
An alter ego for London-based producer Andrew John Collins, each release from Error Operator has a quiet, contemplative, late night feel. Making his name with a number of probing instrumentals, the producer recently decided that a collaboration was in order.
Hooking up with We The Committee’s Kirsty Sutton and Patrizio Knight, the pair added lyrics to 'Never I Us'. Part of a two side single, the instrumental sections were seemingly born from a difficult period in Collins' life.
"I felt very lost at the time and in between the stepping stones of my life” he explained recently. “I was so caught up in moving forward that I felt as though I was crawling: these songs were the result of hoping something was around the corner."
As a result, there's a redemptive edge to this material. 'Never I Us' is grey flecked melancholia, yet the light breaks through - 'Delay' meanwhile is mournful, but never allows itself to become submerged in despair.
