Brandt Brauer Frick have posted new track 'Broken Pieces' online - complete with guest vocals from Jamie Lidell.
A collective aimed at fusing techno with live instrumentation, Brandt Brauer Frick have long garnered a reputation for intense, cerebral electronic juggernauts. Working on new material, it seems that a few studio collaborations have added a pop tip to their often imposing sound.
Forthcoming album 'Miami' features Brandt Brauer Frick on blistering form, but currently the guest spots are grabbing attention. Featuring Om'mas Keith, Nina Kraviz, Gudrun Gut and Erika Janunger, Warp signing Jamie Lidell stopped by to add his vocals to two tracks.
The first of these hit the web this morning. 'Broken Pieces' finds the English artist tempering the German group's sharp edges - we wouldn't call this pop, exactly, but it's definitely a little more shimmering, a little more immediately melodic than some of their previous output.
