Listen: AUTOBAHN - Ulcer

Brooding post-punk...
AUTOBAHN

The music scene in Leeds is remarkably close-knit.

Everyone looks out for everyone else, so when one band make it - in a sense - they all do. Eagulls broke through last year, and on their travels sang the praises of their home town, in particular a group named AUTOBAHN.

Returning with their second EP, AUTOBAHN could be set to achieve greater recognition. 'EP 2' arrives on July 7th via Tough Love, and it's an imposing return, one that contains a muscular, bruising atmosphere.

New cut 'Ulcer' has arrived online, with the band stating it's the perfect jumping in point. Buoyed by a magnetic, hypnotic bass guitar, it's a feral, animalistic track with some magnificently brooding vocals.

AUTOBAHN's Craig: "Ulcer is an appropriate gateway to the album we’re writing - the chorus is quite twisted ('Full breath as life just decays, cut deep, no worth, not this way') - but every time I hear that outro, it always fills me with real optimism and lifts me. The song is about death anxiety, which I don't have anymore at all."

Check it out now.
