Singer to judge fancy dress competition

Foul mouthed pixie of pop Lily Allen has been unveiled as the new judge of Bestival's infamous fancy dress competition.

Held on the Isle Of Wight, Bestival is the now traditional curtain close for the festival season. The event is curated by Rob Da Bank, whose fertile imagination has turned the event into a unique blend of music, comedy and theatre.

Lily Allen released her second album 'It's Not Me It's You' earlier this year. Hitting number one in its first week of release the album spawned the smash hit single 'The Fear'. A sensational live act, Lily Allen has been confirmed as a performer at Bestival.

However the singer is also set to have her hands full judging the event's fancy dress competition. A legendary display of bubble wrap, sticky back plastic and paint the competition sees the festival turned into a bizarre collection of weird and wonderful costumes.

Joining the singer on this year's bill will be electro singer La Roux, whose single 'In For The Kill' almost breached the Top Ten on this week's charts. London singer Jacks Penate is set to perform, no doubt playing tracks from his eagerly awaited second album while hotly tipped duo The Big Pink are set to bring the noise.

Also on the bill are reformed rave giants Orbital, who will provide a DJ set. The group have limited their appearances this summer, but are scheduled to play a live set at the Clash Arena at Rock Ness in Scotland.

Headline performances at this year's Bestival are set to come from German electronic pioneers Kfaftwerk and Bristol trip hop gurus Massive Attack.

Bestival is set to take place between September 11th - 13th.
