Libertines Reformation Rumors

Iconic wastrel and tunesmith Pete Doherty is said to be keen on reforming his old band The Libertines, it has emerged.

The current Babyshambles frontman is apparently putting the finishing touches to his debut solo album. Doherty was recently in Paris to finish off the artwork when he played a surprise solo show, where former Libertine bandmate Carl Barat was in attendance.

Barat is now a free agent after his post-Libertines project Dirty Pretty Things imploded. The group managed just two albums - the same tally as the iconic Libertines. The pair are alleged to have discussed putting the band back together, sending the rumor mill into overdrive.

"Carl thinks it might work, but he needs to be 100% sure Pete won't let him down again before he signs up,” a source told the Mirror.

Barat and Doherty appeared on stage together for a one-off performance in a London pub.
