Liam Gallagher To Start New Band
Oasis man doesn't want to go solo
Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has spoken of his desire to start a new group.
Liam Gallagher became the most iconic frontmen of his generation. Outspoken, the singer led Oasis to global stardom becoming infamous on several continents in the process.
A battle on a Dutch ferry, the spat with Blur, several onstage fights with other bands members, fighting the Mafia - all reasons why Liam Gallagher is simply a rock 'n' roll star.
With Oasis collapsing following the high profile departure of Noel Gallagher, many had speculated that Liam Gallagher would go solo. The singer has emerged as a songwriting force in recent times, contributing to Oasis album sessions.
Launching his own clothing label Pretty Green with a solo effort, fans had expected Liam Gallagher to go out under his own name. However in a new interview the former Oasis singer revealed that he wants to form a new band.
"Getting away from the whole Oasis thing is going to be a good thing I suppose." Liam Gallagher told The Scotsman. "I don't want to do anything solo. I want to be in a band. But we can do things a lot differently these days. It'll definitely be rock 'n' roll."
The singer wants to take a short break from music, though he also admitted that he could launch the new group as early as January.
"For now, I'll be relaxing at home, just getting out of music for a bit and then I'm going to start up something maybe after January, do something different, see where it goes" he explained.
"But I'll be having a breather from the music for a bit without a doubt."
Continuing, Liam Gallagher insisted that he does miss Oasis. "I'm always going to miss Oasis. It was my fuckinging thing, you know what I mean? It's who I am" he admitted.
"But it's only a name. I'm still who I am and I can go and do something else. I've got music in me. I'll never leave it behind but we'll see where it goes. It might be shit but you don't know until you try."
