Lethal Bizzle Single News
New release from UK hip hop don
One of the brightest new talents in UK hip hop Lethal Bizzle is due to release his new single 'Go Hard' on June 29th.
The garage explosion at the turn of the Millennium has turned out to be much more influential than its blink and you'll miss it commercial appeal. Members of groups such as So Solid Crew and More Fire Crew have gone on to have massive success, scoring huge hits as their former groups fade into the public's memory.
Lethal Bizzle began life as a firebrand member of More Fire Crew, before leaving to embark on a solo career. Early hit 'Pow (Forward Riddem)' blended the beats of the dancehall with hip hop rhymes, while debut album 'Against All Oddz' was a critical success.
Banned by some mainstream radio stations, 'Pow (Forward Riddem)' later won a MOBO award and was given the honour of being covered by American megastar Jay-Z. A cheeky blend of influences, the song has become Lethal Bizzle's calling card.
Follow up 'Back To Bizznizz' was a statement of intent, featuring powerful beats and some controversial rhymes. The hit single 'Police On My Back' became an urban anthem, while the parent album saw Lethal Bizzle prove himself unafraid to experiment with different sounds.
Since then, however, little has been heard of Lethal Bizzle. The rapper surfaced to supply some toasting for Gallows cover of The Ruts' 'Babylon's Burning' but has spent most of his time in the studio honing his craft.
Due to release his third album later this year, Lethal Bizzle's new material is said to focus heavily on collaboration. Due for release in September, among the cast scheduled to appear on the record are Donaeo, Mark Ronson, Dexplicit and hardcore crew Gallows.
Mark Ronson needs no introduction, having produced Amy Winehouse's 'Back To Black' which has sold over 10 million copies to date. Gallows, meanwhile, are gearing up to release 'Grey Britain' a savage indictment of life in Blighty today.
A mix of different styles, the new album is Lethal Bizzle's most ambitious effort to date. The hip hop icon is no stranger to collaboration, having worked with Babyshambles and, astonishingly, the Top Gear team on a Comic Relief special.
Forthcoming 'Go Hard' is a statement of intent from the rapper. Having already premiered on Kiss the song is one of the most talked about in the UK hip hop community. Bizzle himself has issued a forthright statement to fans saying:
"It's a club party song, produced by funky house king Donaeo, it's about going hard in everything you do, always putting 2,000 per cent in!"
Lethal Bizzle is set to release 'Go Hard' on June 29th.
