Leonard Cohen has decided to re-schedule some of his upcoming shows in line with religious observation.
Leonard Cohen has always been open about his interest in religion. References to religious texts appear frequently in his work, perhaps most famously in the Old Testament names which litter 'Hallelujah'.
Ordained as a Buddhist monk in the mid 90s, Leonard Cohen remains an observant Jew. Set to play a full UK tour later this year, the singer has asked for two dates to be re-scheduled in line with religious observation.
Due to play Leeds on September 5th, the show clashed with Rosh Hashana - the Jewish New Year. As a result, Leonard Cohen will now perform at the Leeds Arena on September 7th.
Similarly, the London leg of the tour was scheduled for September 14th but this has been moved in accordance with Yom Kippur.
The revised dates for Leonard Cohen's UK tour are as follows:
26 Bournemouth BIC
28 Brighton Centre
31 Manchester Arena
3 Cardiff Motorpoint Arena
7 Leeds Arena
8 Birmingham LG Arena
15 London The O2
