Led Zeppelin Tour Rumours
Reports Suggest Re-Union May Be On
Rock behemoths Led Zeppelin may be set to reform and tour next summer, according to reports in today's newspapers (September 26th).
Led Zeppelin originally split in 1980 after the death of drummer John Bonham. Since then the band have only rarely performed, most recently a hugely successful show at the O2 Arena in late 2007. Clash was there, and can confirm that all the hype was worth it - they remain Gods of rock.
Using Bonham's son Jason on drums, the quartet played fiery versions of Led Zeppelin classics to rapturous applause from the audience. Since then, rumors of a full scale reformation have dogged the band, with singer Robert Plant said to be against a full scale tour.
However, a report in British red top The Sun suggests that Plant's attitude may have mellowed. An un-named source is reported as saying in the newspaper that "he (Plant) realised he couldn't face the thought of not being involved. The band were over the moon when he told them the news."
The news has yet to be officially confirmed.
