LCD Soundsystem Post New Track

Dance punk titans LCD Soundsystem have made their new Suicide cover 'Bye Bye Bayou' available as a free download.

LCD Soundsystem are one of the most influential dance acts of the past ten years. Led by James Murphy the band's seminal debut single 'Losing My Edge' defined jaded hipster cool for the new Millennium.

Now over two years since the band released their titanic second album 'Sound Of Silver' fans are eager to hear new material. Teasing his long suffering admirers with a series of messages, James Murphy has revealed that a new album can be expected in 2010.

Before then, LCD Soundsystem have agreed to take part in an ongoing tribute to the band Suicide. One of the pioneers of electronic music, singer Martin Rev has turned 70 with a lavish fanfare.

A year long project has seen a monthly singles club release rarities from the Suicide back catalogue. Along with this a host of acts have lined up to pay tribute to the band, with Bruce Springsteen, Klaxons and more recording special cover versions.

LCD Soundsystem are due to release their cover of 'Bye Bye Bayou' on November 7th. However in order to combat widespread internet piracy the band have now decided to release the track as a free download.

"Well, 'Bye Bye Bayou' totally leaked everywhere," Murphy wrote on the band's official site, adding, "which shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, since anything that exists is essentially all over the internet in five minutes."

LCD Soundsystem are set to release their new album next year.
