Legendary British tech-house duo Layo & Bushwacka are set to call it quits next year.
Far from the most credible names around, Layo & Bushwacka have nonetheless retained a dogged following amidst the turmoil and trend of British dance music. The pseudonym of DJs Layo Paskin and Matthew Benjamin, the pair have been working together for decades but recently revealed that they intend to call it a day next year.
Bringing a dancefloor institution to a close, Layo & Bushwacka are currently toasting their latest studio album 'Rising & Falling' and plan to play a number of farewell shows in South America across January and February.
“We are drawing a curtain on it now,” Layo Paskin told Societe Perrier. “There will be a handful of gigs together in 2013 only and that will be it for us. We maintained so much through passion and key work, four albums, maybe 50+ singles, remixes, compilations for XL and Global Underground and The End. I believe deeply in the quality of music from 1998 to 2013 and that is what kept us relevant. Though I think that has come to a natural conclusion.”
Farewell then, Layo & Bushwacka.
Here's 'Love Story'.
