Laura Marling To Release Two Albums
Singer already working on new material
Mercury nominated singer Laura Marling is working on her third album - with her second record not even on the shelves yet.
Emerging from London's open mic scene, Laura Marling matched a striking voice with arresting material. Her shows drew comparisons to Joni Mitchell and other greats, but with her own very distinct style.
Debut album 'Alas, I Cannot Swim' was an overwhelming artistic success. Lyrically, Laura Marling pulled no punches with her deeply emotive style. Sparse, the singer is often accompanied only with her gentle acoustic guitar.
Since then, Laura Marling has toured widely before taking time off to work on new material. Confirming details of her new album 'I Speak Because I Can' the singer is set to release the new record on March 22nd.
To be preceded by the single 'Devil Spoke' on March 15th hopes are high that Laura Marling can match the emotional peaks of her debut album.
Now in a shock move Laura Marling has confirmed that she is to begin working on another batch of material later this year. The acoustic star is due to team up with Ethan Johns once again, with recording set to begin in March.
Due for release sometime in September 2010, Laura Marling could be set to prove that 'Alas I Cannot Swim' is far from a one off. As if that wasn't enough to keep her busy the singer is due to kickstart a lengthy UK tour on April 9th.
Taking in dates across the country, Laura Marling will finish with a show on April 25th before rushing back into the studio.
