Laura Marling To Play Free Gig
Tonight in London..
Mercury nominated alt folk favourite Laura Marling is set to play a free gig in north London tonight at The Flower Pot venue.
The singer is currently taking a break from touring, and putting the finishing touches to her eagerly-awaited second album, set to follow-up the critically applauded 'Alas, I Cannot Swim' later in the year.
Emerging from London's creative alternative folk scene, Marling's string of collaborations with the likes of Lightspeed Champion, Mystery Jets and Mumford & Sons immediately marked her out as one of the City's leading talents, all at only 19 years old.
Although currently deep in the writing process, Marling recently surprised fans in London at an impromptu gig by previewing new material such as 'Rebecca' and 'Drinking Alone', as well as a clutch of covers such as Dolly Parton's 'Jolene' and Hank Williams' 'Ramblin' Man'.
At the show the singer claimed it would be her last show before August, however Marling will now return for a free gig tonight - and doors for the event are already open!
The Flower Pot is situated in the Kentish Town Road and opens at 5pm, with acts set to hit the stage at 10pm. Get there pronto, folks.
