Kraftwerk are working on their ninth studio album, according to founder member Ralf Hütter.
Kraftwerk's return has been a remarkable achievement. Stringing together each and every one of their studio albums, are rejuvenated version of the group took a series of special shows to London's Tate Modern earlier this year.
A stunning reminder of their importance, the dates sparked renewed nostalgia for the seminal German group. Now, it seems that Kraftwerk are ready to head back into the studio.
Speaking to The Guardian, founder member Ralf Hütter was asked if the project could complete new material. Replying, the electronic pioneer said "oh yes" and when pressed on a timescale stated: "soon".
Referring to those recent live shows, the producer said: "Now this is done, one to eight. Now we can concentrate on number nine."
Stating "It’s music nonstop!" the fascinating interview also found Hütter explaining: "Nowadays basically Kraftwerk is a space lab".
