Kings Of Leon have apparently urged frontman Caleb Followill to enter rehab.

It's been a stressful week for Kings Of Leon fans. The American indie giants were mid-way through a show in Dallas on Friday (July 29th) when they suddenly pulled up, with Caleb Followill claiming that his voice had gone.

Shocked, the group halted the show. Feverish speculation descended on the band, before Kings Of Leon issued a statement announcing that they were set to postpone the remainder of their Stateside tour.

However this has failed to put a halt to the rumour mill. According to American tabloid US Weekly singer Caleb Followill has been told by the band to enter rehab due to his spiralling alcohol intake.

A 'source' for the magazine commented: "Caleb's drinking is out of control and they are trying to get him into rehab. It's a dark demon he has been fighting for a while."

However a spokesperson for Kings Of Leon has insisted that Caleb Followill is suffering from heat and exhaustion - the United States has been sweltering in a record breaking heat wave for the past month.

"The reason for the cancellation of the tour is Caleb is under doctor's orders for vocal rest" they said. "They feel terrible about cancelling. They look forward to getting back on the road at the end of September".

A Tweet from Jared Followill shortly after the Dallas show admitted that Kings Of Leon were suffering from "big problems" within the group.

Defiant to the last, drummer Nathan Followill tried to re-assure fans yesterday. "Bummed about the tour not happening. So sorry 4 all the fans. We just need some rest. Thanks 4 understanding. WE ARE NOT BREAKING UP!"

Kings Of Leon are set to start a Canadian tour in September.
