Kings Of Leon For MTV Ceremony
Followills for Movie Awards
Southern indie giants Kings Of Leon are set for one of their most high profile American TV appearances to date, after confirming they are to perform on the MTV Movie Awards.
Bizarrely, despite being enormous in Britain Kings Of Leon struggle to match that fame in the United States. Sure, they're not exactly on the bread line Stateside, but the scale of their popularity in the UK has failed to translate to their homeland.
This summer alone Kings Of Leon are set to headline some enormous festivals including Scotland's T In The Park and Oxegen - Ireland's biggest musical event. In fact the band are so popular with Oxegen fans that festival goers demanded the group be brought back after a stunning slot last summer.
Recent album 'Only By The Night' went some way to redress that balance. Kings Of Leon's highest charting effort to date, the record soared up the Billboard charts to breach the top ten - the first time the band have done this in their career.
Now the group have been confirmed for the MTV Movie Awards. One of the most popular wards shows in the United States, this year the most talked about performer is Eminem with the rapper making his first public performance since 2005.
The hip hop icon is due to release his new album 'Relapse' on Monday (May 15th). One of the year's most highly anticipated records you can read ClashMusic's opinion on 'Relapse' HERE!
The Followills are expected to perform the single 'Use Somebody' from their recent album 'Only By The Night'. As usual, the song was a massive hit in the UK before making waves with the our Stateside cousins.
MTV Movie Awards are due to taken place in the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on May 31st. Broadcast live on MTV, it reaches an audience of millions.
